The Benefits Of Pregnenolone Supplementation

Let me start off by saying the following information could be considered controversial. Guess that’s how it’s going to be...

Truth is, I’m not really a "rock the boat" kind of guy.

At the same time, I didn’t get into medicine to help manage people’s illnesses. NOPE! I became a doctor because I wanted people to experience vibrant, vivacious, vantastic health (ok, I made the last word up because I wanted to practice my alliteration).

In my humble and informed opinion, one of the best ways to accomplish this is by paying attention to an area of medicine many other doctors ignore completely - testing hormone levels and supplementing for them when they’re low.

It’s actually one of the most exciting frontiers of medicine. It’s also a polarizing issue, especially amongst physicians.

This is because the role of bioidentical hormone therapy and supplementation is uncharted territory for a number of physicians. It’s not to say supplementation with hormones is controversial in and of itself; it’s just a majority of physicians would rather give you medicines to help mask health problems.

Hardly ever are physicians looking at your hormone levels to see if that’s the root cause of what could be affecting your health.

This is where the role of pregnenolone supplementation comes in.

In this article, I’m going to show you why you need to be concerned about fading pregnenolone levels. I’ll also show you how supplementing with bioidentical pregnenolone can reverse a myriad of health problems, and show you the easiest way to begin supplementation.

Discover Why Almost Everyone Needs the Benefits of Pregnenolone Supplementation

At Health As It Ought To Be, we’re quick to test for low pregnenolone.

Out of the 100+ hormones in the body, pregnenolone is one of the most important. This is because it’s a “Master Hormone.”

This endogenous steroid hormone occurs naturally in your body, and most of the other vital hormones your body uses are produced from pregnenolone. A basic explanation for this is: pregnenolone is used as a building block for tons of other essential hormones.

When pregnenolone levels start to fade, so do other hormone levels.

These include:

  • Testosterone
  • Estrogen
  • Adrenaline
  • Thyroid
  • Cortisol

And more.

Back in the 30s and 40s, we (the medical community, that is; not me, because I wasn’t even born yet) began to test how hormones worked in the body.

Researchers thought, since pregnenolone was a steroidal hormone, it could be used to help out with common problems like failing memory, fatigue, arthritis pain management and more.

It didn’t take long for them to discover pregnenolone was really helpful at improving these areas of health.

Some of the benefits they observed proved pregnenolone was effective at helping to offset fatigue, boost immune system performance, and reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Unfortunately, after these studies were introduced, big Pharma tried to mimic the steroidal effects of pregnenolone with synthetics.

They quickly got approval from the FDA and started producing their synthetics; meanwhile, supplementation with pregnenolone fell off the map.

The good news is, is several decades ago, the medical community started tinkering with pregnenolone supplementation again. Picking up where other researchers left off, they discovered taking supplementary pregnenolone had wonderful effects on health.

The crux of the issue is, we realized as people got older, their pregnenolone levels faded. This could spell serious trouble for total health.

To help adjust for that, we started to recommend people take the supplement to improve health - hence, the benefits of pregnenolone supplementation

You’re about to see why this could help change your life.

Also, if you’re thinking you might need to supplement with pregnenolone, let me preface this by saying a few things:

First off, not everyone needs to supplement with this hormone.

To determine if you’re someone who would benefit from supplementation, you’ll want to get a blood test to determine your pregnenolone levels. Ideally, these levels should fall between 180 and 200.

Anything less, and you'll want to supplement. Please work with your healthcare practitioner.

The second thing you’ll want to understand is supplementation isn’t for children.

Because pregnenolone modulates sex hormone activity, I only recommend it for people who are over the age of 18. Just because pregnenolone can improve memory doesn’t mean your second grader who can’t remember to do his homework needs to take it.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but generally pregnenolone is only for adults.

Now in terms of what it can do for you, I’m going to give you a recap with provided links in case you want to do some more research.

  • Memory: In study after study, pregnenolone has been found to be an incredible memory enhancer. It has been shown to be 100 times more effective for enhanced memory as any other steroidal. (1)
  • Improves Brain Function: Pregnenolone is also believed to help make you smarter. The belief is it’s able to do this by raising levels of acetylcholine. When acetylcholine levels are normal, it can fight age-related memory loss. (2)
  • Normalizes Cholesterol: In one study, pregnenolone helped decrease subjects’ total average cholesterol levels from 263.5 mg/dL to 187.9 mg/dL, suggesting that balanced hormone levels may keep the body’s production of cholesterol stabilized. (3)
  • Battles PMS: Women who suffer from PMS will be relieved to know that pregnenolone can help alleviate symptoms associated with PMS and menopause. Expect to see a reduction in hot flashes and an increased sex drive. (4)
  • Stress reduction: Because pregnenolone works on many other hormones in the body when it’s taken, it can help to combat stress by regulating levels of cortisol and adrenaline. (5)

And much, much more (which I’ll follow up with in a separate article in a few weeks).

The Bottom Line On Pregnenolone Supplementation

Truth is this - if you’re:

  • Fatigued
  • Suffer from painful PMS
  • Have achsy joints
  • Have trouble rebounding from stressful days
  • Forget things with frequently
  • Are concerned about cholesterol levels

Then you'll want to get your pregnenolone levels checked out to see if supplementation is right for you.

If your levels are low, then you should start supplementing ASAP.

When supplementing, I generally recommend to start taking low doses, and work your way up until optimal levels are achieved.

Now let me tell you something important if you’re thinking about supplementing:

Just a few months ago, we created our own brand of pregnenolone.

The reason we did this is because after recommending other brands to patients, we discovered those supplements barely moved the needle on their blood/pregnenolone levels.

We therefore created a micronized product, which promotes better absorption and uptake of pregnenolone. Since we have a lab in our office, we’ve been actively observing how this new supplement affects blood hormone levels.

We’re happy to say our product outperforms others by a longshot.

AND, it’s far less expensive than competing brands (who don't even offer micronized pregnenolone)

If you know supplementing with pregnenolone is right for you and don’t want to waste your money on unproven products, I suggest getting our Micronized Pregnenolone today.
