This Orange Food Is Scaring Big Pharma

This Orange Food Is Scaring Big Pharma

I'm not the kind of doctor who likes to dig too deep into the conspiracies surrounding the pharmaceutical industry.

I believe the pharmaceutical industry has done some great things for humanity.

I also believe that many of them have controlling interests who might make it so some of the products they make and some of the decisions they make aren't in our best interests.

This is why I always stress a return to food, herbs, bio-identical hormones, exercise, etc. as the best ways to positively influence health.

That's why I wanted to take the time to write about turmeric.

Though turmeric has been used for thousands of years, I think it's the way of the future and I wanted to take some time to show you why it's so amazing (and why Big Pharma doesn't like it).

Is Turmeric Better Than Pharmaceuticals?

Well, I think so.

And so do a lot of research studies.

While there are a number of reasons I believe this, I'll start with some of the most obvious.

For one, turmeric isn't a nasty, chemical-filled drug cocktail you take when all your options have disappeared and you're staring death in the face.

Since turmeric is a spice, it means you can eat it every single day of your life to experience its benefits. It tastes great too, so that's an added bonus.

Another reason I love turmeric is it's been studied extensively. There are 6,000 studies on record demonstrating how powerful turmeric is. Hardly anything on the planet has been studied as thoroughly as turmeric, so it's wonderful that we can remain so confident in its amazing health-protective abilities.

In fact, studies have shown turmeric's health-boosting benefits are superior to many of these drugs:

  • Anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Anti-depressants (Prozac)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Anti-coagulants (Aspirin)
  • Pain killers
  • Diabetes drugs (Metformin)
  • Arthritis medications
  • Inflammatory bowel disease drugs
  • Cholesterol drugs (Lipitor)
  • Steroids

Think about it.

6,000 studies have indicated turmeric is better than most all these drugs for the treatment of a variety of diseases and conditions.

Now here's what's interesting about turmeric and its ability to protect health...

Turmeric itself isn't what's responsible for helping boost health.

How can that be?

Well, turmeric is actually just the vehicle for a "secret ingredient" inside.

And that secret ingredient is what makes it so turmeric can help fight cancer, improve cardiovascular health, enhance brain function, alleviate the symptoms of depression, and so much more.

Let me show you what this secret ingredient is and why it's so important for your health.

The Amazing Nutrient Inside Of Turmeric That Makes It So Great

Turmeric is nothing more than a spice carrying an awesome ingredient inside which is known to positively affect health.

The same way an orange has loads of vitamin C, turmeric has loads of a substance known as curcumin.

Curcumin is probably one of the most potent nutrients in all the natural world.

You're probably wondering how it works, right?

Well, that's the end of this article so you'll have to search Google to figure that out.

I'm kidding, obviously. You'll get your juicy details below.

The reason curcumin is so great is because it's a powerful anti-inflammatory and a very strong antioxidant.

These are the reasons it's such an amazing "anti-pharmaceutical."

As Kris Gunanrs writes, curcumin's strong anti-inflammatory properties are what make it one of the most promising nutrients around.

"It turns out that curcumin is strongly anti-inflammatory, it is so powerful that it matches the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs .

Curcumin actually targets multiple steps in the inflammatory pathway, at the molecular level.

Curcumin blocks NF-kB, a molecule that travels into the nuclei of cells and turns on genes related to inflammation. NF-kB is believed to play a major role in many chronic diseases ).

Without getting into the gory details (inflammation is extremely complicated), the key takeaway here is that curcumin is a bioactive substance that fights inflammation at the molecular level .

In several studies, its potency has compared favorably to anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical drugs… except without the side effects."

The way curcumin blocks NF-kB is probably one of the most important reasons to consider adding turmeric to your diet (or supplement regimen).

If you're not familiar with how inflammation affects your body and how it promotes disease, I have an article in the link before this on the subject you can view. The basic recap is chronic inflammation results in oxidative stress in your body.

Consistent oxidative stress promotes the creation and outpouring of free radicals. These free radicals are what have been shown to contribute to a wide range of issues.

Just a handful of these issues include:

  • Autism
  • Crohn's disease
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Kidney failure
  • Cancer
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Stroke
  • Auto-immune disease

That's why the introduction of turmeric and curcumin in the diet is such an incredible means of taking your health into your own hands.

If you can effectively keep inflammation at bay, then the odds you'll develop these conditions and diseases are diminished.

And remember, those kinds of claims aren't hot air. There are thousands of separate studies that show this to be true.

Even major research groups like the American Cancer Society admit this much.

In a review of several studies concerning curcumin use, they wrote:

"Laboratory studies have also shown that curcumin interferes with cancer development, growth, and spread. Researchers have reported that curcumin blocked the formation of cancer-causing enzymes in rodents.

Recently, curcumin has received a great deal of focus because of its ability to reduce tumor size and kill cancer cells."

That's rather impressive when you consider how organizations like that are slow to endorse natural elements in helping to stop cancer.

Now I don't want to pigeonhole turmeric/and curcumin here and say, "Oh, it's great for cancer prevention and treatment."

No way. It's way better than that

Big Pharma is afraid of turmeric (or they should be) because if more people started using it to block the dangerous effects of inflammation, it could seriously cut into their profits.

It's This Easy To Use Turmeric To Change Your Life

If you want to get more turmeric in your diet, I recommend buying the spice and then cooking with it as often as you can. It provides an awesome flavor and just a hint of spiciness that can really transform dishes.

You can also buy the root and juice it as well. Lots of people do this and mix it with lemon juice and other veggies for a superfood cocktail.

Now, there's only one problem with using turmeric in your diet...

If you're adding turmeric to your diet because you want to get a lot of curcumin, you're going to be disappointed.

That's because turmeric is only 3% curcumin by weight.

This is why supplementing helps.

I recommend taking a turmeric/curcumin blend.  A blend that contains 100%  pure turmeric with high amounts of curcumin. Why not just pure curcumin? Well as much as I've focused on its benefits, raw turmeric also has some amazing health benefits of its own. And that's what makes a blend so special.

Taking a high quality turmeric/curcumin blend that is guaranteed for purity 1-2 times a day is a great way to fight inflammation and keep illness at bay.
