King Tut’s Favorite Healing Therapy?

King Tut’s Favorite Healing Therapy?

It’s been a while since I’ve written about the Egyptians and some of the medicines they used.

As many of you will remember, the Egyptian empire was one of the most powerful empires of antiquity.

Part of the reason they were among the greatest civilizations to ever rule on the Earth came from their deep understanding of how natural products in the Earth could help them survive better than other civilizations.

There’s a long list of natural products the Egyptians used to help rise to supremacy in the Ancient Near East.

And we use many of them to this day.

One of the more obscure products utilized by the Egyptians was something known as black cumin seed.

For whatever reason, the black cumin seed and products made from it had fallen out of favor with civilizations that came after it. But the truth is, this is one of the more potent plant-based products for supporting superior health that we’ve ever discovered.

And only in the past decade have we come to discover what it’s good for.

If King Tut Liked It, Should You Use It?

The first thing I want to clear up is that when it comes to the historical use of black cumin seed, we’re not actually quite sure what they used it for.

Black cumin seed was found in King Tut’s tomb, which has led archaeologists to conclude that King Tut may have liked it enough to be buried with it.

But that doesn’t mean we have a good idea of why he was buried with it.

What we know today is that black cumin seed (Nigella sativa) has some potent immune-enhancing effects as well as powerful antioxidant effects.

And while it shares a descriptive name, I will make a note here, black cumin seed is not exceptionally worthy as a spice on seasoned beef for tacos. I’ve tried and it just doesn’t stack up to its American counterpart.

Black cumin seed is a “small flowering shrub with purple or white-tinged flowers that grows in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and western Asia.”.

Hidden inside of the seed is a compound called “thymoquinone” and this compound is believed to be the root source of all its health-supporting properties.

The #1 benefit associated with thymoquinone is how it supports your immune system.

Obviously we’re extremely interested in immune health right now and I think that black cumin seed is an immune-modulating supplement all physicians should look into.

Easily one of the leading reasons to consider thymoquinone as an adjuvant is because of how it helps to support your body’s response to inflammation.

Don’t forget, inflammation is a healthy and natural response to various forms of injury.

Yet, if you’d like to remain healthy and well, inflammation support must be provided so that an ongoing inflammatory response doesn’t lead to a state of dishealth.

Thymoquinone helps to support your inflammatory response in such a way that it will help you maintain a healthy immune state when it might have otherwise gone in the opposite direction.

And that’s why we’ve seen multiple studies with black cumin seed help with various health issues.

3 Unique Ways Black Cumin Seed Can Support Your Immune System

Your immune system is the front line defense against possible pathogens infecting you and leading to illness.

And black cumin seed may help in immune health maintenance so that you don’t fall victim to an infection.

1- Black Cumin Seed Helps You Resist Infections: Studies support the use of black cumin seed to resist infections as they’ve documented that it has antimicrobial properties.  Black cumin seed has been observed to reduce viral load and also works against dangerous pathogens when other conventional treatments stop working.

2- Helps to Support a Healthy Heart:  In an article I wrote about heart health and the coronavirus, I made a connection between how a healthy heart helps to reduce the risk of succumbing to an infection like coronavirus.

And ultimately, a healthy heart is a must for a healthy immune system.

Studies indicate that taking black cumin seed can help to support a healthy immune system by helping to support healthy blood pressure and healthy cholesterol levels as well.

3- Helps Promote Wound Healing: One of the additional benefits of black cumin seed is how it affects the immune systems ability to heal wounds.

Studies have shown that when taking black cumin seed it can help to restore damaged tissue in a healthy manner. It does this by supporting a healthy inflammatory response at the wound site, while also suppressing bacterial proliferation, while assisting in the growth of new collagen fibers which stimulates other growth factors and helps repair wound sites with healthy skin.
