Have you heard of detoxing before?
If you have, what did you think of when you hear the words “detox program,” or “cleanse”?
Did you automatically think of a toxic sludge pool with a large fence around it complete with big, yellow, bio-hazard signs? Or did your mind go somewhere else… maybe to a 4 day green juice cleanse, a bit of yoga and massage, and finally some transcendental meditation?
My guess is, no matter what you think about detoxing, you don’t know the full story on the power of a detoxification plan, or why they’re so important for optimal health.
In this series, I’m going to tell you all about detoxing. Don’t worry, I’m not going to get bogged down in the boring medical jargon that’ll put you to sleep.
Instead, I’m going to break down what you need to know about effectively detoxing so you not only feel better but can also give your body a “soft reset” and move towards better health and a longer life.
Let me also say this before I go any further:
While many physicians in the medical community believe detoxing is of great benefit to your health, according to the FDA, we can’t say that it’s a 100% surefire fix-all, so just be aware of that as you move through the article. Alright, that being said…
Inside, You’ll learn why you need to to detox. Despite what you might think, every single person in the United States could benefit from a detoxification program.
We’ll also cover the different methods for detoxification. Since your body has multiple detoxification systems already in place, you’ll learn which system needs the most support, along with easy to follow methods that can enhance the detoxification process.
And, I’ll be showing you easy ways to support a detoxification program if you’re convinced you need to detox but aren’t sure how to fit a detox into your busy schedule.
Sound good?
Excellent. Let’s begin.
It’s a question I hear frequently, partly because so many people hear they need to detox but aren’t exactly sure why.
Let me start off by giving you a very simple example.
While it’s rather simplistic, the analogy I’d like to use is that of an oil change.
Every 3,000 – 5,000 miles you’re supposed to get an oil change for your car.
As you know, a refusal to get an oil change is a death sentence for your engine. Should you skip an oil change, or go too long without getting new oil and a new oil filter, your car’s engine will lock up and melt down.
In truth, a $50.00 oil change can prevent thousands and thousands of dollars in repairs down the road.
Similarly, your body needs the same kind of attention. Though your body is a much more complicated machine than an automobile, it functions in much the same way.
While an oil change for a car involves draining the old oil and removing the oil filter in favor of replacing the oil and getting a new oil filter, your body isn’t afforded the same kind of considerations.
And yet, your body is in charge of filtering out toxins all day long…it never gets a break like a car does.
Which means that, over the course of a lifetime, your body might actually end up accumulating far more toxins than it’s able to excrete.
Hence the need for a detox.
Part of the problem here stems from the fact you live in a 20th century world which hosts hundreds of thousands of different toxins that end up stored in your body.
It wasn’t always like this, and the more that science inches forward, the more toxins we see in the environment.
At the present moment, there are an estimated 80,000 chemicals that have been invented by man.
And, right now, they can be found in the tap water you drink, the food that you eat, they’re in the air you breath, and the surfaces you touch, and worst of all, they’re dangerous and they get trapped in your body when your vital detoxifying organs can’t keep up with the demands of filtering them out anymore.
Factor in the constant exposure to toxins with the fact that most Americans subsist on a diet of synthetic foods, don’t get enough exercise, only have a bowel movement once every few days, and are constantly under high stress, and you’ve created a recipe for toxic build up.
And, if that’s not sobering enough, according to the nonprofit organization Environmental Working Group, it begins at birth. By their estimates, the EWG says the average newborn baby has 287 known toxins in his or her umbilical cord blood.
If that’s the number of toxins that are in a newborn’s blood, imagine how many more are in yours when you’ve been alive for 30 years plus.
This is where the problem starts, and here’s how to get a handle on the problem.
As you’ll remember from the example above, your car relies on an oil filter to trap dirt and debris to help keep your oil clean.
And, no matter what lengths you go to, your oil filter is going to get so dirty that it must be replaced. In the process, your oil will also become inundated with particulate and debris that forces you to dump it and replace it with brand new, clean oil.
Unfortunately, your body doesn’t have these options.
The main organs in your body responsible for detox are the kidneys, the liver, the lungs, and, surprisingly, your skin.
And, unless you’re aware of a science that physicians aren’t, there’s no way to get a new set of kidneys, or to replace your lungs in an effort to detox.
You’re more or less stuck with them.
An d since they see a constant barrage of toxins coming int to the body, they need to be properly supported to do their jobs correctly. Much like your children need to be supported to clean their rooms
That’s why you need to support your body’s natural detoxifying mechanisms.
When you do this, you can help fight the build-up of toxins in the body, and, in many circumstances, you can even “dump” a considerable amount of harmful toxins so you begin to feel better again.
Detoxing like this has helped many people be cured of chronic health problems and is a wonderful way to live revitalized.
Up next in the series, I’ll tell you how you can detox on your own and give you easy to follow steps for taking control of your health all on your own.
